April 4, 2018, the Odesa National Academy of Food Technologies hosted a summing up and announcement of the winners of the International Black Sea Science 2018 Student Contest.
At the first stage of the competition, which lasted from 06.03.2018 on 23.03.2018, a review of the work by members of the jury – experts in the relevant areas. Under the provisions of the competition, all the works were reviewed by at least two experts, who was from abroad countries and ONAFT, and in controversial cases, additional reviewers were involved in an objective assessment of the work.
In January 2018, the sending of invitations to participate in the competition to Ukrainian and foreign higher education institutions was held. By March 5, 2018, 186 works were submitted to the competition, including 153 works from 48 Ukrainian universities and 33 works from foreign ones. From foreign countries, the work was sent from China, Poland, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Moldova, Georgia and Belarus.
Specialists from 12 countries came to the jury: Germany, France, Greece, Serbia, Israel, China, Georgia, Poland, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Moldova, Belarus.
The final session of the jury and the organizing committee in the Skype mode and announcement of the winners was held April 4, 2018, based on the Odessa National Academy of Food Technologies.
It should be noted that everyone unanimously expressed the approval of the idea of organizing such a competition, which became the venue for the competition of young scientists from different parts of the world and at the same time an opportunity to meet the scientific schools of leading OLAs from different countries. The chairmen of the jury noted the high scientific level of most of the works that took part in the competition, their relevance and originality of the decisions, which confirmed the numerous publications on the subject of research, acts of introduction and patents. Appropriate reviews and appreciation for the opportunity to take part in the first and only format in the International Competition for student research in Ukraine and in the world were expressed by foreign jury members who unanimously noted the high level of organization of the competition, clarity, coherence and comfortable conditions for their work.
According to the competition for each direction, the prize places occupied 25% of the rated titles according to the rating. The distribution of grades is as follows: 20% – diplomas of the 1st degree, 30% – diplomas of the II degree, 50% – diplomas of the III degree.
The authors of 47 scientific works took prizes, including 36 works from 16 Ukrainian ZVO and 11 works from the universities of China, Poland, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Bulgaria, Belarus and Moldova.
