study at the Polytechnic University of Valencia (2025)

I spent the spring semester of 2025 under the Erasmus + program at the Polytechnic University of Valencia, the best technical university in Spain. Valencia immediately won me over with its atmosphere: the bright Mediterranean sun, the warm sea, cozy streets, a combination of modern architecture and ancient history, as well as an incredible beach, which became a favorite place to relax after studying.

As part of my studies, I participated in two courses: “International Seminars in Life Sciences” and “Soft Skills for Engineers”. In total, there were about twenty lectures, which were given by teachers and specialists from different countries of Europe. Each meeting opened a new perspective on science, engineering, international cooperation and professional development, and also provided an opportunity to communicate with people working in different industries. It was a unique experience that broadened my vision of science and showed how rich education can be when it is truly international.

At the same time, I took a Spanish course, at the end of which I received an A2 level certificate. Learning the language helped me to better immerse myself in the life of the city, find a common language with the locals and feel like a part of the Spanish culture. An equally important part of my stay was meeting new people, I made friends with people from different countries, and these friendships became one of the greatest values that I brought home.

Student life at the Polytechnic University of Valencia is extremely active: sports clubs, events for international students, parties, meetings and many opportunities for integration and development. Constant interaction with students from all over the world made every day new and interesting. I also traveled a lot in Spain, visited small cities within the province of Valencia, Barcelona, Madrid, Alicante, Ibiza, Vigo and Santiago de Compostela.

This whole trip became extremely important for me. It taught me independence, openness, self-confidence, gave me new academic experience and gave me memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life. I am very grateful to our university, the Erasmus + program and the Polytechnic University of Valencia for this chance. It was a truly inspiring and incredibly useful experience that I would be happy to repeat. I sincerely recommend every student to take advantage of the opportunity of academic mobility, it opens up the world and changes lives for the better.
